Reports are starting to swirl over at Inside Line that the new four door Wrangler Unlimited will start at $21,000. This would put the new Jeep well within my range so that I could get a four door. Not sure about that though, but don’t let it hinder your donations as I Want a Jeep.
Chrysler insiders tell Inside Line the Wrangler Unlimited will start at around $21,000.
The Unlimited will be offered in either two- or four-wheel drive and comes in three configurations: Wrangler Unlimited X, Sahara and Rubicon. Four-wheel-drive Unlimited X and Sahara models feature Command-Trac NV241, a part-time, two-speed transfer case. A Trak-Lok limited-slip rear differential is optional. Rubicon models feature an off-road Rock-Trak NV241 two-speed transfer case as well as electric front- and rear-axle lockers and 32-inch BF Goodrich off-road tires.
The Chrysler Group brand says the Wrangler Unlimited will feature hundreds of different top, door and windshield combinations, as well as 16-, 17- or 18-inch wheels. All models are equipped with a 3.8-liter overhead-valve V6 that churns out 205 hp and 240 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment; a four-speed automatic transmission is optional.
